  • Story text was edited by Al Alvarez, bringing either small changes to the scenario or completely changing the meaning of many missions. Now the plot doesn’t interrupt with Liberty City Stories plot, sounds academically correct, and also contains a lot more complex constructions and black humor than before. Obviously, the biggest and the most important change of this patch;
  • The AI voice acting has also been redone from the ground up using more modern 2024 standards AI. Now the voicing sounds much more realistic than in the first versions of the project;
  • Some mission names were tweaked and improved from the prior version;
  • Radios got extended to 40+ minutes each (new songs picked by 1826, spacefiller_, .Hayabusa);
  • Business centre now has a unique name appearing in the right bottom corner of the screen when you enter it;
  • Small cutscenes before story missions now show the player «walking in» inside the mission giver location;
  • These small cutscenes got a second variant that will be shown randomly sometimes instead of the original one;
  • Shoreside Vale Marcus’ safehouse now has a small presentation cutscene;
  • Some rampages got rebalanced;
  • Many cutscenes were redone from scratch. Now «Dolls House», Paulie’s Villa, Giulianno’s Warehouse and other interiors can be seen in cutscenes;
  • Some skins were improved and new ones were added. Giorgio Forelli now more resembles himself from Forelli Redemption, there are new unique skins for Sindaccos’ money keeper Christopher, best Liberty City Racer from a bonus racing mission and more;
  • Each story act now has its own mission passed theme;
  • It is now possible to buy back your weapons in case you end up getting arrested or wasted, in a similar way to how it works in Vice City Stories. Approach the bag pick up to do so;
  • Now there are more quotes Marcus says when approaching some story-related locations. Can you find all of them?;
  • 15 custom cheats were added (Up, Down, Left, Right stand for D-pad buttons):

  • Myths got reworked. They generally look not that off now, and there is now a secret fifth myth that takes you right into the future, 3 years in…;
  • The Yakuza compound now features gang members walking around. It is possible to rob their compound after they turn hostile towards the protagonist;
  • Similar robbery was added to the colombian hangar in airport;
  • «Circuitbreaker» got completely reworked: hit enemy cars when they have a certain color. Sounds easy, but don’t miss timing!;
  • «Tightened Path» was remade from scratch. Enjoy a final race between four strongest racers in the city, including you!;
  • «Dispersion» was remade from scratch. Now it more resembles Vice City distribution;
  • «Car Bomb» (Panlantic mission) was removed. «Architectural Art» is added instead: be fast enough to intercept the architect’s plans before competitors do it!;
  • «Liberty Humdrums» now may offer you a hot continuation for missions. It smells like cappuccino… But don’t even hope HER heart will be a fast thing to achieve!;
  • «Major Shootout» (Reporter mission) was removed. «Catch Him If You Can» is added instead: follow a speedboat of gun smugglers, but be careful enough when taking a flight!;
  • Tramps now thank the protagonist when you donate money to them;
  • Thugs Marcus may hire from the Business Centre now say lines when you come to them.;
  • In pimping, a new type of mission was added: now you may pick up girls from the clients after they finish their job. Also, girls now may salute the protagonist when they see him;
  • Protagonists now sometimes say monologues, containing their thought of the story events, similar to what Tommy does in GTA: Vice City;
  • «Iron Maiden» is removed. «Blackmail Handshake» is added instead: now you don’t rely on random spawns in a boring rampage-style mission!;
  • «Genuine Man» is now completely different. Instead of the very basic «Get from A to B» type-mission, now you should follow your drunk target instead, and no one says it is going to be easy!;
  • «Making Movies» now has an extra shot with Toni and also now features an extra section with destroying the Sindaccos’ associative car, to fit the LCS-lore more;
  • «Bone Voyeur!» is removed. «The Cleanest I’ve Been» is added instead: discover the dark lore of JD O’Toole and help him start looking clean in the face of society!;
  • «Find in 60 seconds» is removed. «Flow of Sin» is added instead: as JD, you will help Marcus to have a conversation with El Burro, boss of Diablos. Who knows how well will this go…;
  • In «False Talking: Act I», the negotiations location was changed to a different one now, changing the whole mission balance;
  • In «Opium War», destinations for «product» drops now have clients, saying lines when getting the product;
  • In «Guardian Angel», there is a completely new mission section. Help Frank Sindacco survive in a unfair fight with Triads using only… improvised means;
  • In «The Guns of Leone», JD now has a rifle he gets from the club before storing it on the roof for Toni. Shooting all bullets will fail the mission though! There will be a Leone goon helping you if you play on a Soldier difficulty, and additional cutscene shots with Toni were brought back into the plot.
  • Dalton, JD’s brother phone call was added into the game as a part of his betrayal story hook;
  • After JD dies, car parked near his first safehouse won’t disappear anymore: it will be towed to the Portland Police Station;
  • In «Wheels of Fate», instead of simply destroying the vehicle, you will take a risky trip to the big important Leone member funeral and kill the participants in the most insolent way!;
  • In «False Talking: Act II», there is a new cutscene in the end, introducing Christopher, Sindaccos money keeper;
  • Money Keeper now may give you 6 additional missions in a special strand aimed at heists. Shoot down helicopters, rob banks and more in order to get a special prize…;
  • In «And Not a Hair Fell», Yakuza thugs now will say lines after recruiting them. Changed the way how a ‘Recruited men’ onscreen counter looks like;
  • In «Nutter Tools», a new mission section was added: you and Phil will escape from police pursuit. A helicopter and a heavy rifle will help you!;
  • As a reward for completing Phil’s missions, free weapons will spawn near Business Centre and thugs you hire from here will have better weapons;
  • Rolando, closest Massimo Torini associate, now appears in «I See Dead People» instead of a regular Sindacco goon;
  • «Attack of the Living Dreads» was completely reworked: for the first time in the Sindacco Chronicles story take control over Paulie Sindacco. This time Marcus and Paulie will switch their roles who usually helps who;
  • «Sicily Strikes Back» is removed. «Seabirds» is added instead. Together with Rolando take part in a trip to get the documents about Donald Love and then escape from the incoming Leone reinforcements by sea;
  • In «…And Your Friends Closer» now you can complete the mission objectives without getting a military helicopter;
  • In «Our Common Cause», the mission was reworked and now features more complex shooting scenes compared to what the game had before. A scene at the funeral was added in the end;
  • «Curtain Falls» now goes before «The Final Cuts» and now doesn’t show the controversial part of taking a fight with an important Liberty City Stories character.

Improvements

  • Mission rewards got higher in general;
  • Difficulty differences got various tweaks. Now «Boss» difficulty offers smaller mission rewards, some pickups will be removed from the map and the weapons enemies handle will be more different;
  • Now in the beginning of the story game explains you the differences between two Soldier and Boss difficulty;
  • Submissions now show the amount of levels you should complete;
  • In «Mister Franco?» now one of the enemies will now be on the street instead of in the car;
  • In «Underground Wars» and all of the races opponents AI was improved;
  • In «Free Estate» now it is possible to get spotted without getting the mission failed. Enemies will say a line after spotting you. New shots with Toni were added;
  • In «Precious Protection», the structure of the mission was updated, now there are multiple segments of breaking the sea blockade;
  • In «The Made Man» is now a cutscene mission;
  • In «Burying the Hatchet of War», there is now a cutscene showing a prison cell with Forellis members. Also, camera switch sound was added;
  • In «Longshots», the algorithm of how the «Suspicity» meter works was improved;
  • In «…And Your Friends Closer» made the Sicilian Stingers have yellow color from LCS;
  • In «The Extinction», the scene with Paulie was extended;
  • Added a glow around snapshots locations like in SA;
  • In offroad challenges, target scores and location of some of the checkpoints got changed. Now you can’t skip the initial mission cutscene if you haven’t watched it before. Changed the behavior of an onscreen counter. Now it is possible to cancel offroad missions like any submission;
  • In «Spike Men», added Mickey’s quotes for performing kills. Changed the behavior of an onscreen counter;
  • In «Hood Painter», the Shoreside RC racing route was reworked to look more interesting;
  • Now you won’t have to retake Paulie’s business estates after the beginning of Act 3;
  • Now there is a text hint explaining that JD can’t take contracts from Giulianno after betraying Sindaccos;
  • Added many other QoL changes to a lot of missions here and there;
  • Made it possible to capture Shoreside Vale business estates before unlocking this island;
  • Made all pickups for collecting packages and completing rampages spawn near JD’s house.

Fixes

  • Voiceover now won’t bug and become disabled forever for no reason;
  • Game stability on PSP-1000 was improved («complex» missions now use less console memory in general);
  • Mission markers won’t disappear after loading the save files;
  • Radios now switch their songs in a proper order;
  • RC races now display one of the missing lines properly. These missions can’t be used for getting early 100% completion anymore;
  • In «Firefighter», Sindacco Argento can’t spawn anymore;
  • In «Beneath the Sky» it is now impossible to get a unique Barracks OL with emulator exploits;
  • In «Pimping», enemies won’t be able to spawn on the top of the train tracks anymore;
  • «Guardian Angel» now won’t crash upon failing sometimes;
  • «Free Estate» now won’t crash during the last cutscene sometimes;
  • «Judas Iscariot» now won’t crash if you destroy Frank’s car too fast;
  • In «Graveyard Keeper» dialogue now won’t repeat when leaving the car;
  • «What Can You Do?»‎ now won’t crash the game anymore on the real hardware;
  • «The Pushers» now won’t feature cars that are immune to player’s actions and led to a softlock;
  • In «Burying the Hatchet of War», there is no cheesy way to complete a mission anymore;
  • In «Humanitarian War» now car pathing is fixed;
  • In «Wrath of the Man» helicopter now won’t get stuck if you get away from it;
  • In «…And Your Friends Closer» leaving the Shoreside Vale in a helicopter now won’t crash the game anymore;
  • In «Path of the Damned», fixed a potential crash upon completing the mission;
  • In «The Final Cuts» helicopter now won’t get stuck if you get away from it;
  • Fixed an issue when cars with special properties lost their properties after saving the game;
  • OnMission variable manipulation with property buying isn’t possible anymore;
  • Fixed invisible markers and enemies spawn issues on Contraband missions;
  • Fixed a bug when dying and starting the business takeover in the same time led to a mission instapass;
  • Fixed news audios playback after certain story missions;
  • Fixed a bug when buying properties sometimes led to a softlock;
  • Fixed a bug when you could complete races with helicopters;
  • Ammu-Nation glitches are fixed;
  • Phone calls softlocks are fixed;
  • Car crusher issues are fixed;
  • Fixed ‘Leone casino’ texture transition;
  • Fixed business estate blip display;
  • Fixed a cleanup section for some of the missions;
  • Removed an inconsistency on fades removing prints;
  • Fixed a cleanup of thugs you hire at the HQ;
  • Fixed a contract reward textbox not showing up after the 2nd contract;
  • Fixed a 100% completion text not showing up sometimes;
  • Fixed a bug which allowed you to complete USJs with helicopters;
  • A lot of small fixes in the missions were made.
